Two Paths, One Goal

Types of Surrogacy: Two Unique Approaches to Building a Family.

Traditional Surrogacy

The surrogate is biologically related to the child. The surrogate’s own egg is fertilized with sperm from the intended father or a donor (usually via IUI – intrauterine insemination).

Gestational Surrogacy

The surrogate has no genetic link to the child. An embryo is created through IVF using the egg and sperm of the intended parents (or donors), then implanted into the surrogate.

Surrogacy laws vary by location. Typically, both parties sign a legal agreement detailing the rights, responsibilities, and compensation involved.

Egg donors can receive between $5,000 and $10,000 per donation cycle, while sperm donors may earn about $100 per sample.

The cost can range from $50,000 to over $150,000, depending on the location, legal fees, medical costs, and compensation for the surrogate.
